Overview

Lough Wood was founded durring the late 11th century, by Hèbel Glkeg̈m Carwardine. The establishment of Lough Wood was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Lough Wood's construction back out of the project. Hèbel Glkeg̈m Carwardine pushed on reguardles, and Lough Wood was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Lough Wood was built using the conventions of Sylvin durring the late 11th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Lough Wood is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature plaster covered brickwork used to form structures with an emphasis on symmetry, proportion, geometry and the regularity of parts. Orderly arrangements of columns, pilasters and lintels, as well as the use of semicircular arches, hemispherical domes, niches and aediculae can be found everywhere such that only size of building and yard can be used to measure the general prosparity of a given building's owners due to a general wealthy feeling the style gives off.

Lough Wood is buildings are arranged arround a network of crampt flagstone streets which form a diagonal shaped grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town emploies a series of defencive earthworks and fences to provide minimal protection against wild beasts and smaller groups of intelegent foes. Lough Wood's somewhat suffishent has sufferd soem light damage, reducing its function a little in some spots, but could almsot certainly preform as expected... Though some of the worse spots could lead to the loss of defenders lives if attackers identified the weaknesses ahead of time.

Lough Wood is not quite well. Something happened here, perhapse recently, perhapse long ago. Whatever it was, it settled into the very soul of the town like a festering wound. The people go about their day well enough, but there’s a tention in the air you can cut with a knife.

Cultural Notes

There’s a relatively new religion in Lough Wood which is rapidly gaining power. It might be a sectarian offshoot of a major faith, the unique product of a new prophet, or an outside faith backed by wealthy and powerful foreign supporters. Depending on the demands made on believers, the new faith may be a matter of concern only to the existing clergy, or it might be a major flashpoint for conflict in the community.

Lough Wood's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known for its fluid and florid elaborate style, comprising ornate, asymmetric designs and pastel shades. It is often considered to be a playful, light style, which made exuberant use of curves and emphasized subtle asymmetry in the general shape of its structures. Walls, ceilings and moldings are decorated with numerous interlacing of curves and counter-curves based on the shapes of ‘C’ and ‘S’, along with shell forms and other naturalistic shapes.

The Snake, Venomous near Lough Wood are known to be quite timid.

Lough Wood's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves performance art to channel Illusion energies of tier 2 via singing.
